Cervicalgia is a medical term used to describe neck pain that occurs in the neck and often the upper shoulder muscles. The pain may range from mild to severe and can be accompanied by stiffness, limited range of motion, and muscle spasms.
Cervicalgia can be caused by various factors, including muscle strains or sprains, muscular imbalances, poor posture, degenerative disc disease, cervical herniated disc, spinal stenosis, and osteoarthritis. Treatment options may include pain medication, physiotherapy, heat or cold therapy, and unusually, surgery.
