What to expect on your first visit

Physiotherapy Initial Assessment

Your initial physiotherapy consultation is around 60 minutes and will include both assessment and treatment. Your medical history and injury/pain will be discussed and recorded. You will then undergo a physical examination

You may be required to undress sufficiently to enable your physiotherapist to properly assess the area. Please feel free to wear suitable clothing ie sports clothing, however we do have shorts available in clinic.  Following your physiotherapy assessment your therapist will discuss his findings and what he feels are the best treatment options with a formulated treatment plan. If you wish to proceed at this point the treatment plan will be agreed. You are, in no way, obligated to carry on with a follow up appointment.

If your physiotherapist feels physiotherapy is inappropriate or he feels further investigation is required you will be informed and referred onward accordingly.

You are more than welcome to bring a partner/friend to accompany you during your sessions.

We require all minors to have an accompanying adult at all sessions.

Physiotherapy Follow Up Treatment

Follow up treatments are generally 30 minutes but 60 minute sessions are available depending on your requirements. The number of treatments you require will depend on your condition which will be discussed during your initial assessment.

At PE we believe that in order to give a complete solution to your injury and to prevent it coming back we need to use a combination of both hands on therapies and exercise. We have a number of innovative treatments that we use to achieve this including tool assisted massage and mobilisation of both joints and soft tissues to enable your body to return to normal. We will exam your body thoroughly to give you a precise series of exercises that you can do after you leave the clinic in order to prevent the injury returning and also for you to maximise your wellbeing.
